Old Mutual had chosen the Drake suite at Stamford Bridge for their evening entertainment a new venue for me. Working alongside Looch (Wayne) the mind reader. Our green room was one of the executive boxes that surround the pitch with dining and bar area for about 30 people with a seated balcony outside with excellent views of the pitch. How strange it all looked shrouded in darkness, silent and empty.
Good job it was buzzing inside having been warmed up by a comdedian and quite a bit of acohol the party was in full swing. Pity the less interesting bits of conferencing had run over time and the last orders seem to come very prematurely for many and we were all ushered out into the freezing night by some very large Russian security guards.
On the plus side the venue was easily reachable and did have parking and hotel facilities on site which is always useful. No doubt a tour of the trophy and dressing rooms was the highlight of the day, for others the Kings Road shopping.
