I didn't chose to live in London I was born here. However if I had been given the choice I don't know of a better location for a caricaturist to be. Living in Barnet not only do I have tube and rail services on my doorstep but if I have to reach parts of Hertfordshire, Beds , Bucks or even Birmingham I'm also close to the M1 and M25.
Large corporations are still very London-centric and caricaturing at corporate events in the city of London and London West End still dominate my calendar. If I'm working as an 
iPad caricaturist with my TV screen it makes sense to drive in and plan my parking as negotiating London transport with a lot of kit can be testing.
Living locally also means I can get home easily without spending hours travelling or having to charge London Hotel rates. I'm often asked if, when I'm not working as a caricaturist at a corporate event, if I'm sat in Leicester Square drawing with charcoal. I've never done that but it's nice to know the option is there if the corporate entertainment dries up, however, I think if that happened I'd plump for a hotter location.
